The Seymour-Tisdell-Straubs

Our family is composed of Trish and Jon, 11-year old Sydney, Twin two year olds and our black lab, Sully. Mike (Syd's dad) is around quite a bit too. We'd started this blog as a way of keeping up with our family and friends, please feel free to share the URL.

New House

Apparently, it pays to stick by your original offer. After our low bid, the sellers made a counter-offer which we decided not to entertain because its such a buyers market and there are plenty of nice houses out there. However, despite this unwillingness to negotiate on our part, the sellers said they'd accept our offer (verbally - nothing has been signed yet!)
I am thrilled because this is exactly the kind of house I've always wanted: modest in size, lots of land, private and unique. Its also on a dead end street in the same school district Sydney's already in. Just Perfect!
Hopefully, everything will go smoothly but I've heard its a very involved process. We'll see.

Congratulations!!! We decided to try to follow your strategy yesterday, but our dream house was already under agreement, only 8 days after going on the market... Glad it worked better for you guys!

Way to go you guys!!! Glad you stuck to your first agreement. Have you worked out the chimney problem yet? Can't wait to see the new digs - after the paperwork goes through of course. Hugs!
