The Seymour-Tisdell-Straubs

Our family is composed of Trish and Jon, 11-year old Sydney, Twin two year olds and our black lab, Sully. Mike (Syd's dad) is around quite a bit too. We'd started this blog as a way of keeping up with our family and friends, please feel free to share the URL.

Smiles on Camera

Ella

Charlotte

The girls have been smiling at people other than me for a couple weeks now, but its been very hard to catch on camera. These attempts are my best so far but still do not do their sweet little smiles justice. They are particularly smiley babies but these pictures make them look like Chris Farley......

Father-Daughter Dance

This yearly girl scout event has been attended by Sydney and Mike every year for 5 years (barring one year when it conflicted with the Musical Annie). They have so much fun getting ready and dancing all night. This year finding a dress for the "royal ball"-themed dance was a little harder (preview of what's to come, I'm sure!). We finally found a dress at the "adult store" Deb, which I can't believe!

2 month appointment

We're a little off schedule because the twins have to get their RSV shot exactly a month apart - they are actually 9 weeks this week, but they had their two month visit today. They are weighing in at 9lbs5oz and 8lbs15oz (Charlotte and Ella, respectively) which is 5% for their chronologic age group and 10% for their corrected age. Those percentiles are the same for length too. Their growth is right on, they are just petite girls (makes sense with 5'2" mom and 5"7" dad). Its just new for me since my first baby has never been less than the 80% for all growth measures. PS One of my babies has passed Ciara's birth weight, yes!
The picture above is one syd snapped as I try to settle down two cranky babes at once! Ignore the laundry mountain in the background......

10 years old - movie party

Sydney had a "move-making" party to celebrate her 10th b-day. She wrote a script and the 15 attendees picked out their parts, rehearsed and filmed a movie that we watched while eating popcorn. I had my doubts about how smoothly this would go down but Mike and Syd make it work.

Ciara with her "auntie Trishey."

I'm pretty sure Ciara thought she, too, was a 10 yr old girl. Here she is running though the group of dancing 10 year olds.

Sydney opening gifts and reading cards.

Her awesome lemon, movie-themed cake once again made by Grammie Carla. Delicious!

The whole gang.

Why is looking at yourself in a mirror more interesting than looking at your identical twin?

Sweet Cheeks

A decade old

Sydney celebrated her 10th birthday on Monday.

Her school "birthday" outfit.

She can't quite get all 10 candles.

Stay tuned for pictures from her kid party on the 14th......
