Ladies Weekend - August

We had planned an "all-girls weekend" in VT with Shara, Maddie, Meghan, Erin, Ciara, Sydney and myself but the singular road to Meghan's cabin was washed away the day prior to our planned trip with absolutely no alternative route possible. Though dissapointed, we instead spent the weekend at Meghan's sister's camp in Winchendon and had a great time anyway.

The whole gang at the end of the weekend. I have to admit, two baby girls made me very tired and I'm not even their mother! Uh-oh....... maybe when you're not pregnant its easier to chase them around.

Sydney and Meghan in for a swim in the lake.

At night we made s'mores over the fire, had sparklers, told ghost stories (Sydney told the best!) and watched the meteor shower from the boat.

Erin and Meghan by the fire.

Ciara, Erin, Maddie and Shara sitting on the dock. They were watching the rest of us swimming.

Meghan's niece Emma came to visit on Saturday afternoon and she, Meghan and Sydney swam across the lake to the neighbor's awesome slide thingy and played on that awhile.

In the front yard we took turns on the trolley swing which was very entertaining.

Ciara and Maddie showcase their swimware. They got along very well (more posts on that to come....)

Sydney clearly prefers a pool without fish but still spend a good deal of time in the water despite this. We played board games late into the night friday (hilarious), had a water balloon fight and each of us "hosted" a meal. A huge thank you to Meghan and her sister Patty for an awesome Plan B!

Shara and Brian's get together - July

Shara, Brian and Maddy are staying on the lake in Ashburnham at a family place of Brian's and hosted us (high school friends) for a cookout in July. Although the weather was un-fabulous we had a great time seeing each other and watching the babies play with one another. People, stop having babies, we're running out of room at these events!
A shot of the group. Ryan is partly cut off on the left. I was waiting for someone to send me a better photo...who shall remain nameless.......but that never happened.
Geoff and his longtime SO Kelly made the trip down from NH. They plan to host a sledding party in February '09, right guys?

This year's mothers and babes. We did try just the babies on the hammock first...let's just say that didn't go well.

Ciara was very interested in Will (not an adult, not a baby...!?)

Maddy and her daddy.

Ciara and Maddy played pretty well together.

Our News

Hey everyone - we've somehow managed to lose the cord from the camera to the computer and therefore have not been able to download our summer pictures. But we just couldn't wait any longer to share our news:

We're expecting twins in early February. Well, they say we should really expect them in January as twins usually come a little earlier than most singletons. Based on our most recent ultrasound it appears that they are identical (monochorionic, diamniotic) girls. We are so excited and were totally surprised to find out there were two. Because they are identical we do need frequent ultrasounds to watch for the complications that can accompany some twin pregnancies, which obviously makes us a little nervous. I am currently about 16 wks along. Thanks for sharing our news!
