The Seymour-Tisdell-Straubs

Our family is composed of Trish and Jon, 11-year old Sydney, Twin two year olds and our black lab, Sully. Mike (Syd's dad) is around quite a bit too. We'd started this blog as a way of keeping up with our family and friends, please feel free to share the URL.

More Thanksgiving Weekend....

We spent Saturday at my parent's house and my cousin Bobby visited with his three kids. (Sydney has been waiting for this visit for weeks now). The kids had a blast playing with the dogs, hiking by the river, building a fire, roasting marshmellows and making gingerbread houses with grammie/aunt Carla. We hope to see them again soon!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We hung out with Bill, Avanti, Erin and Darcey at Erin and Darcey's new place in Hull. We took the two dogs down to the Beach at night and in the darkness we noticed that some of our footsteps glowed..... On further inspection we found that if we stepped on piles of "mush" they luminesced, it must have been jellyfish or something but we had fun running all over the beach stepping in them.

Thanksgiving weekend

Jon and I headed to Holyoke for turkey day with Lou in tow but we forgot to take pictures! We enjoyed our time with the Taupiers and Tisdells as always despite the dreary weather and must have consumed about 20 different desserts. The Taupier-Tisdells don't eat as much at the Thanksgiving meal as the Seymours but they definately surpass us in dessert!

Just another weekend

Lou really loves his "doggie."

Erin and Darcey came up Friday night for hockey and dancing. This picture is from Saturday morning and basically on the blog just to upset Erin.

Sydney poncho-ed up to help wash Lou after he
rolled in something dead.

Residency Applications

I must warn you - this blog is not that exciting but we thought we'd bring people up to date on our interview trails. Jon and I are both in the process of applying to residencies. I'm applying to Family Practice programs (3 years) at UMASS, Tufts, Dartmouth, UCONN, Brown, Fitchburg, and Lawrance. I have interviews at these places over the course of the next month. Jon is applying in Neurology (4 years) at UMASS, BU, the BI, MGH, and Brown. Jon has already completed two of these interviews. We're not "couples matching" because we're afraid that we'd both match to a training site that is far from Holden (as we're not planning on moving). I think ultimately we'll both rank the UMASS sites first but we're trying to keep our minds open about having a commute. We'll keep you posted!

Weird

Okay, we though he might grow out of it but Lou has the weirdest "tail tip" we've ever seen on a dog. Sydney describes it as his "firecracker " and I think that's pretty accurate. Its like regular tail....regular tail.......regular tail.....pow! way too much crazy hair!

Maybe its the only part of him that is non-lab.

More Halloween

Unfortunately, Lou didn't exactly "tolerate" his halloween costume so we don't have any pictures of Lou as a triceratops to share with you but here are a few others.....

Halloween

We had another great halloween. Sydney was a rock star and Mike went as the croc-hunter. Jon and I stayed home and scared trick-or-treaters.
